Floral Polished Malachite Collector Slice

A striking polished Malachite slice from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, selected for its exceptional natural patterning and distinctive formation.

The polished face reveals an incredibly detailed mix of floral-style formations, concentric banding, clustered orbicular patterns and flowing green layers, with natural cavities and areas of darker exposed matrix adding further contrast.

This particular slice has a compact, almost square form with an irregular rising edge to one side, creating a naturally sculptural silhouette. Dense flower-like formations dominate the upper and left-hand areas, while broader sweeping bands of vivid emerald and deep forest green flow across the lower and right-hand sections.

Small natural openings, exposed matrix and the irregular outer edge give the piece additional depth and character, while the polished face beautifully showcases the complexity of the Malachite formation.

Rather than being cut into a uniform shape, this collector slice retains much of the original structure and irregularity of the Malachite, making it particularly appealing as a display specimen for mineral collectors.
