What is Septarian? Septarian nodules formed around 50–70 million years ago when volcanic activity and ocean sediments created concretions. As these hardened, natural cracks developed inside, later filled by minerals such as calcite and aragonite. The result is the distinctive veined patterns and contrasting colors seen in each piece.
